Music Philosophy
Statement

THERE IS NO RIGHT OR WRONG WAY TO CREATE MUSIC.

People created music for thousands of years before anyone tried to write it down.

In those years, musical creation and expression was as free and variable as conversation, open to everyone.

Once it was written down, music maker, music creator, music listener had to conform.

Music became the exclusive preserve of the trained musician and the musically educated listener.

Music came to be a matter of art not a universal talent.

The stroke of the pen created a fence with a narrow gate of perception.

Learning the passwords excluded the many potential music creators.

The passwords were, are jealously guarded.

IT IS MY INTENTION

To broaden perception

To re-create in people of all ages, including the very young, the concepts that
it is their natural right to create music as part of Nature itself

There is no right or wrong way to create music
